OUR STORY & PHILOSOPHY
I graduated from the University of Ulster Belfast with a BA HONS in Fine and Applied Art in 2005. I have since completed a PGCE and currently teach Art and Design in a secondary school.
I live in rural Co Armagh in the tiny village of Magheralin. My ceramic studio is a pandoras box of my experiments with clay.
In my work I make the connection between the object and its surface. I have this inherent fascination with touch and a tactile surface. Inspired by the Irish linen and lace industry and coming from a textile background, I use fabrics to impress texture into the surface of the delicate slab built forms. Often these fabrics are something I have sourced from my grandmothers sewing box.
I love creating new and exciting pieces, so if you have a favourite pet and would like me to make a personalised piece. Feel free to get in touch. I'd be happy to bring it to life for you!
